The Aberlour A’bunadh is a natural cask-strength malt produced without the modern chill filtering methods. This is a malt with no age specification, and tasting notes can vary significantly per batch.
Nose: Rather bold, rich caramel.
Mouth: Quite powerful, warm sherry. Mouth numbing.
Finish: Long, warm and tingly.
A quite powerful malt, the A’bunadh is not for everyone. I would still definitely recommend that every scotch lover try it, and it may become a recurring choice for some. Adding water tends to bring out more fruity notes.

First bottling I had was amazing, fruits and sweetness.
More recent bottling #24 more woody, still good but not as easy a dram.
I have not had the chance to try the 21, but I have had the 32,33,34, 38 and 44. I recommend all but the 38 as top notch. My favourites are 33 and 44.
I hear the 28 was a classic, but have not yet had the chance to try it. I’m saving that for a special time…
