Bowmore is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland. Bowmore is often viewed as one of the best balanced of all Islay malts.
Nose: Soft smoke and peat.
Mouth: Peaty, smokey, lightly charred oak.
Finish: Long smokey finish, with hints of honey sweetness.
Bowmore 12 is a decent malt, a good choice for peat and smoke enthusiasts. While it does not compare very well to other peaty and smokey malts out there, it can become an affordable alternative to your regular selection. However, if you are a fan of the Speyside malts like I am, then this bottle will likely stay around for a while.

Tried this but did not really enjoy it for the first few sips – then it started to grow on me. Not as smokey as a Laphroaig or Lagavulin and a bit harsher, I personally would not buy another bottle.
